 Lake District 2012 Campaign

You may have heard of The Lake District 2012 campaign from our launch event in August or from local press?

It is something Lakes Marketing are running with The Lakes Hospitality Association and working with Cumbria Tourism, and Keswick Tourism Association. We are using the Olympic Torch event on 21st June next year, in Bowness, as an excuse to invite top travel journalists from key markets around the world to come and experience the Lake District for 3 or 4 days.

The main objective of the campaign is to raise the profile of the Lake District brand in foreign markets that are important to the Lake District's tourist and related industries. We are bringing together tourist associations, accommodation and hospitality providers, retailers, visitor attractions and other businesses from across the whole county to leverage the interest in Britain that will be generated abroad by the 2012 London Olympics. Our press campaign will target non-sport journalists from top publications in key foreign markets.

We are now up to over 70 sponsors around the county. This list can be see on www.lakedistrict2012.com
