We are proud to be sponsoring the Cumbrian Young Chef of the Year 2011 awards which is organised by Essential Cuisine. The competition will coincide with the build up to the Best of Lakeland Show 2011 where young chefs will be demonstrating their culinary skills and presenting some of their winning dishes. We will be hosting the awards ceremony at our prestigious Show Dinner, which will be presented by Master Chef of Great Britain and Former Head Chef at the BBC Brian Mellor who will be announcing the winner and runners up, from 7pm on Thursday 10th March 2011. There will also be an after-dinner speaker named Hugh Judd who is from Eblex, a company who represent English beef and lamb producers in the UK. The winner of the award will become the Cumbrian Young Chef of the Year, which is an important stepping stone to greater things, and will also be entered into the North West Finals to be in with a chance of winning a week long bursary in a top European restaurant, a weekend for 2 at a luxury hotel and a set of prestigous knives.

Michelin Star Chef's Demonstrations 2-Day Schedule
The Best of Lakeland Show are proud to present a timetable of Michelin Star Chef's Demonstrations over the 2 days of the event. Although the list is still provisional we have chef's from some of the top restaurants in the Lake District and the North West as well as a Cordon Vert Cookery School by the Vegetarian Society.
